O-Band Multimode Interference Coupler Power Combiner Using Slot-Waveguide Structures

چکیده

Photonic transmitters that operate with a high data transfer rate (over 150 Gb/s) at the O-band range (1260–1360 nm) require least 100 milliwatts of power to overcome losses are caused by using high-speed modulators. A laser higher can probably handle this requirement; however, for transmitter system, solution be problematic due nonlinear effects happen, which may lead noise in system. Thus, solve issue, we propose new design 2 × 1 multimode interference (MMI) combiner silicon nitride (SiN) slot waveguide structures. The MMI and SiN structures were optimized full-vectorial beam propagation method (FV-BPM) finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. After combining two sources, efficiency was obtained 94.8–97.6% from total after short coupling length 109.81 µm over low back reflection 44.94 dB. proposed device very useful sources gain level, utilized improve performances systems.
